Location and size
This station is located in Ashkazar city with an area of 22 hectares and an altitude of 1160 meters above sea level in the Yazd-Ardakan basin with an east longitude of 12.54 and a north latitude of 1.32 and an average rainfall of 50 millimeters.
Station activities
The main activity of the station is the implementation of research projects in the field of desertification and the study of plants resistant to drought and adapted to desert areas.
Considering the importance of plants in desert and desert regions and in order to preserve drought-resistant and sand-loving plants in the province, as well as non-native plants in other parts of the country, and to investigate the compatibility of species, phenological studies, and finally introduce the most suitable species for revival The desert areas of the province and its similar places in Iran and the production of seedlings, seeds and cuttings, the establishment of a botanical garden of the desert and desert areas of Iran has been established in this station.So far, 159 species of desert plants have been cultivated in Shaheed Sadouqi Station and studies on them are ongoing.
Creating a collection of salinity-resistant medicinal plants in a land of 2 hectares including 86 species of indigenous and imported medicinal plants is one of the ongoing activities at this station.
The establishment of a provincial herbarium with an area of 60 square meters since 1372 and the maintenance of 752 herbarium species, the creation of a lysimeter research site in a land of 0.5 hectares to determine the water needs of desert and desert plants are among the other activities implemented in this station
