Introduction of Forest and Rangeland Research Department

Activity of Forest and Rangeland Research Department is begun from April 1983 with the formation of Yazd Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center in the ministry of Agriculture. In 1991, this department was transferred to the Agricultural and Animal Research Center in Ministry of Jahad-e-Sazandegi. After the merger of Ministries of Agriculture and Jahad-e-Sazandegi (2003), this department with name of the Forest and Rangeland Department continues to work in merged collection of Yazd Research Agricultural and Natural Resources Center (Ministry of Jahad – E- Agriculture). This department addition to the central district has three research station including Shahid Sadoughi Desert Research , Nir Rangeland Research, Medicinal Plants Research, and Forest and Rangeland Laboratory. Now, department members are including four faculty members (three PhD, one MS) and four researchers (non - faculty member) and three work forces.
